I am often asked about air travel to the Bay Islands so I thought I would cover that today.
You can get direct flights to the island, though none of the carriers are here daily.
American Airlines flies here from both Miami and Dallas, Delta from Atlanta, and United Airlines from Houston. The Airport letters for Roatan is RTB.
The above airlines also fly daily to San Pedro Sula on the mainland which is normally less than direct flights to the island itself, though you would need to then take a bus then a ferry or flight to the island. For those going to Utila you would want to end up in LaCieba on the north coast and then fly or ferry to Utila. If you do come direct to the island there is a charter flight you can take to Utila on weekends. Another low cost option (though odd times) is Spirit Airlines to San Pedro also.
